We’re proud to announce that in March, _nology, part of the Opus Talent Solutions group, partnered with the Tech Council of Australia (TCA) to deliver the Next Wave: Women’s Tech Transitions program, a national initiative designed to increase women’s participation in highly technical roles across Australia’s tech sector.
ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Funded by the Federal Government’s Building Women’s Careers Program, the Next Wave: Women’s Tech Transitions initiative is a response to the gender imbalance in tech. Women currently make up just 20% of the technical workforce and are leaving the industry at nearly twice the rate of men (TCA, 2025).
TCA research has revealed that women are almost twice as likely to enter tech mid-career than at the beginning of their professional journey. This insight has shaped the program’s focus on mid-career transitions as a critical pathway to increasing female representation in tech.
The initiative is built around three core pillars:
Ignite – Inspire interest in tech through diverse role models and career stories.
Transition – Create accessible pathways for women to enter and move into technical roles.
Retain – Support inclusive workplaces through leadership accountability and adoption of T-EDI (Tech Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) standards.

WHY IT MATTERS
This partnership is about driving real change. By supporting women in tech, we’re not just closing a gapm we’re unlocking innovation and strengthening Australia’s digital future.
As TCA CEO Damian Kassabgi stated:
“To ensure Australia remains a global technology leader, we must do more to increase the opportunities for women to reskill and upskill into tech jobs.”
Through _nology’s involvement, Opus Talent Solutions continues to champion inclusive hiring and talent development, helping shape a tech sector that reflects the diversity of Australia.
WORKING TOWARDS A MORE INCLUSIVE TECH SECTOR
